Fire Wakes Mission Viejo Neighborhood Early Friday Morning
The cause of an early morning Mission Viejo vegetation fire is under investigation today. The blaze on Pataco Drive was reported at 1 a.m.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — A small vegetation fire broke out in the early hours on the 26300 block of Pacato Dr. in the front yard of two Mission Viejo homes on Friday. The fire was initially reported at 1 a.m. on Friday morning.
Orange County Fire Authority engines had the blaze under control and extinguished within 10 minutes, according to Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz.
"The 50 by 50 square foot area that burned was in a common area between two houses," Kurtz said. "A small piece of vinyl fencing was burned, as were three to four tall Italian cypress trees."

There was no structure damage, or injury according to the report.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
