Earlier in the day, another fire alerted OCFA to the 27000 block of Pinuela.
At 6:30 a.m., Monday, firefighters arrived to find the garage of a home in Mission Viejo fully engulfed in flames, OCFA reported.
"Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the garage fire," OCFA Capt. Thanh Nugyen reported. "They prevented the flames from spreading into the house."
Though the family dog's barking alerted them of the blaze, they were unable to find him as they fled a house filling with smoke. OCFA firefighters searched the home, and found the dog, Teddy, hiding inside.
The family of four who lived here were displaced, and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
No one was injured in either blaze.
