Flashing Suspect Arrested In Mission Viejo Business Wednesday

Orange County sheriffs arrested a man on suspicion of flashing in a Mission Viejo business near Saddleback College.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — A man was arrested in Mission Viejo Wednesday after reportedly exposing himself to customers inside of a local business, Orange County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Scott Steinle said.

The man was not identified by the OCSD nor Saddleback College Police officers, who helped in the arrest. During the investigation, Steinle told Patch that authorities discovered the man was driving a stolen car with license plates registered to a Laguna Hills owner.

"It appears as though the suspect had possession of a stolen vehicle," Steinle said. "A witness identified him as coming and going from that vehicle."

He was booked into Orange County Jail, Steinle said. He faces charges for buying or receiving a stolen vehicle and indecent exposure, Steinle said.

Deputies investigating the scene found three unidentified victims of the flashing, and interviewed several other witnesses.

The incident was reported at 11:20 a.m. in a local business located on Marguerite Parkway near Saddleback College and The Shops at Mission Viejo, Steinle said.

A Saddleback College Police Officer was initially brought to the scene after a witnesses of the flashing flagged the officer down from outside of the unidentified business.

According to Steinle, the officer stayed on scene with the suspect until the OCSD arrived.
