Free Music Classes For Mission Viejo Kids

Do your kids love music? Kids 5-12 can get free music lessons, courtesy of the City of Mission Viejo on Aug. 20.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Want your little ones to be able to do more than plunk out "Chopsticks" on the piano? For one day only, the city of Mission Viejo is sharing the love of music with younger residents.

The Potocki Center for the Arts will be the location for these free music classes, samples of larger and more in depth music study, for families who wish to pursue their children's love of music, according to the city.

At 5:30 p.m., the Let’s Play Music class kicks off for kids ages 4-6. This group class uses singing, games, full-body movement and discovery to teach piano skills, music theory, ear training, note reading, rhythm, composition, classical music studies and more.

An hour later at 6:30 p.m., kids ages 7-12 can check out the Presto music class. Whether they’ve had piano lessons or not, beginning pianists will embrace this fun class that covers complete musicianship, vocal training, sight reading, music theory, history, piano technique and more taught in a fun, snappy style tweens will love!
