Garage Fire Erupts In Mission Viejo Home: OCFA
A Mission Viejo resident out for a walk on Plant Avenue around 7 p.m. Sunday was alarmed when they heard crackling from a neighbor's garage.
MISSION VIEJO, CA — A home and its pets were saved in Mission Viejo, thanks to the effort of a proactive neighbor and the Orange County Fire Authority.
A Mission Viejo resident was out for a walk on Plant Avenue at 7:14 p.m. Sunday, the OCFA reported.
The neighbor said they noticed smoke coming from another neighbor's house and heard crackling in the garage.

The resident knocked on the door but got no answer before calling 911, authorities said.
Firefighters arrived in just six minutes and confined the fire to the garage, saving the house.

A cat and a dog were also found safe inside the home, authorities said.
No further information was immediately available.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
