Greg Raths' shares his record as Councilman for the City of Mission Viejo
I enjoy serving the great people of Mission Viejo and look forward to serve them in Washington, D.C. next year

When it comes to choosing the correct candidate running for California’s 45th Congressional District, it’s important to consider the candidate’s record. I have a clear record that properly illustrates the kind of person I am when it comes to making decisions for my community. As a City Councilman for Mission Viejo I have accomplished a great deal for my community to include the following:
● I worked with the council and city staff to craft and pass a two year responsible balanced budget for 2016-2017.
● As Mayor Pro Tem in 2015 I skillfully conveyed to the City Manager and the Mission Viejo Orange County Sheriff Lieutenant the requirements to ensure Mission Viejo remains safe. Those requirements were met, the city stayed within budget, and Mission Viejo maintains the prestigious distinction as "safest city in California."

● I championed the award for our seven dedicated citizens of the Community Services Commission and the five Investment Advisory Commissioners a $50 increase to their stipend, raising it to $100 per monthly/quarterly meeting.
● I worked with the council and city staff to pass the $7 million renovation of our city’s 40+ year old Marguerite Aquatics Center without using a dime of taxpayer money.

o The project is being financed with private funds from the swim and diving club, The Nadadores ($1.4 million) and developer money that is paid to the city for parks and recreation ($5.6 million).
o The Nadadores Swim and Diving Club opened up their membership to residents of Mission Viejo, so all can enjoy the up-to-date Aquatics Center once it is completed in 2018.
● In conjunction with city staff, our council properly executed plans during the current California drought to ensure there is plenty of water for all Mission Viejo residents.
● I worked hard with other council members to find funds to pay off the unfunded liability for city employee medical and dental plans, and reduce the city's unfunded liability for city worker's pensions.
● I worked hand-in-hand with Councilman Sachs on the ad-hoc Economic Development Committee in an effort to revitalize the City Core at La Paz Road and Marguerite Parkway.
● I was a Director in 2015 on the Transportation Corridor Agencies Board to help find effective ways to keep traffic flowing thru south Orange County. Also served as a Director on the Watershed Management Area Executive Committee.
- I serve on Assemblyman Bill Brough's Veterans Advisory Committee and Vanguard University Veterans Advisory Council.
All of these things reflect my record and shows what kind of a Councilman I am in our community. I am a true and tested community leader that has proven to always do the right thing for my community, making it better at every step of the way. I ask for your continual support and feel that I am a great fit to be your U.S. Representative in Washington, D.C.
