Community Corner

Handmade With Love by Crafty Ladies.

Crafty Ladies need yarn to make items for people in need during these cold months.

With needles and yarn in hand, the Crafty Ladies chat while working on knitting and crocheting projects. The ladies are dedicated volunteers and meet weekly at the Norman P. Murray Community Center in Mission Viejo to make hats, afghans, blankets, mittens, booties, sweaters and warm scarves for others in need.

Recently they made hats/beanies to be distributed to homeless people in Orange County.

They are always in need of yarn. Yarn supplies are low as we are busy working on making warm items for the winter months. All handmade crafts are donated to the Marines, Veterans, Operation Baby Love and Child Abuse Prevention Center of Orange County.

A simple act of kindness like donating a handmade item to someone in need, feels great. Knowing that the item will be appreciated by someone who really needs it, is priceless.

The women are weaving friendships as they work. They are united by a sense of pride in giving back, their love for knitting, sharing stories and their laughter.
