Head To Pavion Park In Mission Viejo On Saturday For Modern-Day Treasure Hunt Using GPS-Enabled Devices

Get ready for a fun-filled geocaching event in celebration of Leap Year at Pavion Park on Saturday, February 29.

Join other geocache enthusiasts at the park (N 33° 36.914' W 117° 37.996) at 2:29 pm to look for a series of new caches hidden along the Oso Creek Trail in the Jeronimo Open Space that will be published the day of the event.

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. Along with being thrilling, it’s also a great excuse to enjoy the outdoors and discover Mission Viejo.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn more about geocaching or obtain help getting started, several geocachers will be on hand Saturday to answer questions and give direction. Just bring your smart phone or other GPS-enabled device and download the geocaching app.
