Heat, Unsafe Air Quality On The Way In Inland Orange County For The Weekend

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Be aware, Orange County: The National Weather Service issued a heat and air advisory for your town.

Inland Orange County residents can expect high temperatures in the 90s and cities such as Mission Viejo, Fullerton, Irvine, Santa Ana, Anaheim and Garden Grove.

The Heat Advisory is expected to last from until 8 p.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors," the National Weather Service said in a statement.

The Heat Advisory comes on the heels of an Air Quality Alert for much of the South Coast Air Basin and Coachella Valley.

The Air Quality Alert is expected to last until Monday, the National Weather Service said.

According to the service, levels of ozone pollution can vary by time and location depending on emissions and air pollution transport.

Inland Orange County residents can visit this website to monitor air quality near them.

"Everyone can be affected, but sensitive groups such as people with lung disease, older adults, people who are pregnant, children and those who spend a lot of time outdoors are at greater risk," the service said.

Residents were urged to monitor their surrounding air quality and seal windows, limit outdoor activity and use an air conditioner where necessary.
