Helicopter Airlifts Injured Man From Mission Viejo Greenbelt

A man who reportedly injured himself multiple times was airlifted over the weekend from the Mission Viejo Crown Valley greenbelt area.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — DUKE helicopter was heard across Mission Viejo and Ladera Ranch early Saturday morning when Orange County Sheriff's Department officers responded to the aid of a man who suffered multiple stab-wounds, according to authorities.

A "Good Samaritan" from Ladera Ranch, who was jogging through the area, discovered an injured man, and called 911, Orange County Sheriff's Department reported.

Officers rendered aid to the man who had sustained multiple self-inflicted stab wounds and other injuries, arriving officers said. Paramedics on Duke 6 provided on-scene treatment both on the ground, and during the extraction, when he was life-flighted to an area hospital.
