Man Arrested For Auto Theft In Mission Viejo Tuesday

Orange County deputies arrested one man after a Mission Viejo resident reported seeing a suspicious car parked in their neighborhood.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Orange County sheriff's deputies arrested one man in Mission Viejo Tuesday on suspicion of stealing a car, authorities said.

The suspect, who was not identified by deputies, faces charges including auto theft, possession of narcotics and resisting arrest. According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the suspect was sitting in a vehicle that was reported stolen Tuesday morning in San Diego.

Deputies were called to the scene in the area of Muirlands Boulevard and Ares Street after a resident reported spotting a suspicious vehicle in their neighborhood late Tuesday morning.

According to sheriff's deputies, the suspect ignored their requests to have him step out of the car. Ultimately, K-9 Keto was sent into the stolen property and the suspect was arrested.

No injuries were reported, and no further information was available.
