Homeless Woman Charged After Pushing Teen Runner Into Traffic: DA
The homeless woman was charged with attempted murder for allegedly trying to shove a teen off the Crown Valley Parkway bridge.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — A 23-year-old homeless woman accused of trying to shove a teenager off the Crown Valley Parkway bridge in Ladera Ranch was charged with attempted murder, court officials said.
Stephanie Rose Redondo was charged with attempted murder including a sentencing enhancement for attempted premeditated murder. She was also charged with misdemeanor counts of battery and assault for allegedly attacking two other victims.
Redondo's arraignment on Tuesday was rescheduled for Sept. 13 in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana. She is being held on $500,000 bail.

On Friday, deputies were sent to Crown Valley Parkway between O'Neil Drive and Jardines about after multiple callers reported someone attempting to jump off the Crown Valley Parkway bridge.
According to Orange County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Carrie Braun, Capistrano Valley High School cross-country runners were on the sidewalk in the area at that time.

"Redondo allegedly lunged at one of the boys to attempt to push him into traffic," Braun said.
Redondo allegedly put a 13-year-old boy on the team in a headlock while trying to shove him off the bridge, prosecutors said. Before running away she allegedly punched a 14-year-old boy who wanted to stop her, Orange County District Attorney's Office prosecutors said.
