Hundreds Of Helmets Handed Out In Mission Viejo
Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo handed out roughly two hundred helmets to kids Friday.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Since last year, Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo reported an increase in pediatric trauma patients who suffered injuries from riding e-bikes, skateboards and traditional bicycles without a helmet.
In an effort to encourage safe riding, Providence Mission Hospital fit and gave away roughly 200 helmets to kids whose parents participated in the inaugural giveaway program for members of the community Friday.
Providence Mission Hospital reported seeing a 500 percent increase in e-Bike injuries compared to last year, and nearly half of the kids impacted by e-Bike injuries got injured while not wearing a helmet. This event was designed to combat such statistics.

The event saw hundreds of kids, and each of them went back home with a brand new and well-fitted helmet thanks to Providence Mission Hospital.
