Husband, Wife Hospitalized After Mission Viejo Crash
A Mission Viejo couple were struck while crossing Mustang Run Thursday.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — A couple crossing Mustang Run at Los Alisos was struck by a vehicle at dusk Thursday, according to Orange County Sheriff's Department. The pair, who walk nightly at sunset and sunrise, according to a family friend, were both transported to Mission Hospital in unknown condition.
"The man and woman, both in their 70s, were not in a crosswalk at the time they were struck," OCSD spokeswoman Carrie Braun told Patch. The driver remained at the scene after the collision, she said.
"No arrests have been made," Braun said.

The driver reported that she did not see them in the road, according to Braun. There was no indication that she was speeding at the time of the crash.
Major accident reconstruction was investigating the scene, and the road was closed during that time, according to Watch Commander Lt. Wayne Rehnelt of OCSD Mission Viejo Police Services.
