Islands Restaurants Comes to Mission Viejo This August

Islands Restaurants will make a splash at their new Mission Viejo location--bringing signature burgers, tropical drinks and good vibrations

MISSION VIEJO, CA—The Shops at Mission Viejo is taking a trip to the islands this August. The region's newest hangout--Islands Restaurant--will open Aug. 16, making this the 11th location in Orange County.

Known for specialty burgers, fresh cut fries and ice-cold drinks, Islands Restaurants will bring its beach-inspired atmosphere to a new location in Orange County this summer. Located at 799 The Shops at Mission Viejo, the region’s newest Islands will open on August 16, 2016. This will mark the 11th location in Orange County.

“We are incredibly proud to bring a new Islands to the area,” said Michael Smith, president of Islands Restaurants. “Since opening our first location more than 33 years ago, the Orange County community has been very supportive and we couldn’t be more excited to open at The Shops at Mission Viejo. We look forward to providing the community with great food, fantastic service and more opportunities for spending time with family and friends.”

The new restaurant location is the perfect spot for a pre- or post-shopping meal for the upcoming fall and holiday season.

Islands boasts an open and airy feel with surf-inspired décor, a relaxing patio for outdoor dining and 14 big screen TVs throughout the restaurant ideal for cheering on sports teams or catching the latest surf videos. The spacious 600 square foot bar and lounge area offers eight different beers on tap and seats up to 40 guests.

The Islands menu features delicious burgers such as the classic Big Wave or the Hawaiian topped with fresh grilled pineapple, teriyaki sauce and Swiss cheese; a variety of flavorful beach tacos and fresh salads; and its famed Island Fries – fresh cut daily and cooked to crispy perfection. Guests can choose from a wide array of ice-cold beverages: local craft beers in frosty mugs or one of Islands’ signature tropical cocktails, including the Mai Tai or the Big Island Iced Tea with vodka, gin, tequila, rum, triple sec, pineapple juice and strawberry purée.

Guests can also visit Islands for happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. each weeknight in the bar to enjoy discounted offerings including Beachside Sliders, Cheddar Fries, beer, wine and tropical cocktails.

Islands at The Shops at Mission Viejo is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information, please visit www.islandsrestaurants.com.
