Jeep Slams Light Pole, Kills Driver In South OC High-Speed Crash
A Rancho Mission Viejo man died early Friday morning while driving eastbound on Oso Parkway in the community of Las Flores.

LAS FLORES, CA — A Rancho Mission Viejo man died early Friday morning after the jeep he was traveling in crashed into a traffic sign and then a light pole, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash was reported at around 12:05 a.m. Friday, authorities said. The 37-year-old man was driving a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on Oso Parkway at a high rate of speed, reports said.
"For reasons still under investigation, the Jeep veered to the right and struck a mobile traffic sign and subsequently a light pole," CHP Officer Rafael Reynoso said.

The man died of his injuries at the scene of the crash, authorities said. He was not identified by authorities.
