Kiwanis supports photography programs

Donations made in the name of Dr. Bill Starr

Former Mission Viejo Kiwanis Club member Dr. Bill Starr was memorialized for his passion for photography during a club meeting Tuesday. Donations of $500 each were made to the Mission Viejo and Tesoro high school visual arts programs.

Posing along with two photographs taken by Dr. Starr are (from left) Kiwanis member Pat Griggs, who helped arrange the program along with Kiwanian Pete Zimmerman; Michael Hatcher, assistant principal at Tesoro; John Hallam, chair of Tesoro's Visual and Performing Arts Department; Vicky Starr with a photo she took of her late husband; and Mark Tsang, photography instructor at Mission Viejo who is also on staff at Saddleback College

The donation will be used at Tesoro to buy new lenses while Mission Viejo will use the money to help buy a digital printer.
