MISSION VIEJO, CA — In response to surging inflation and monstrous gas prices, Krispy Kreme stores across the nation and California will tie the price for a dozen donuts to the U.S. average for a regular gallon of gas, the company announced.

Donut prices will deflate every Wednesday for one month. On April 13, the national average tethered to donut prices was $4.11, but that will change each week.

The price of fuel is much higher in California, where drivers were paying an average of $5.73 per gallon of regular gas on Wednesday.
