The Laramie Project
MVHS Drama is presenting the docu-drama "The Laramie Project" on October 16th, 17th and 18th at 7 pm in the Performing Arts Theater.
“The Laramie Project” is a profoundly moving and controversial play based on the October 1998 kidnapping and murder of Matthew Shepard, a 21 year old college student. Matthew, a 5’2, 105 lb. gay man was severely beaten and left to die tied to a fence on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming. “The Laramie Project” is one of the most performed plays in America today and has been instrumental in creating a platform for conversation about gay and human rights.
This play is recommended for mature audiences and contains strong opinions and subject matter that will make an impact on your life.
This month marks the 16th anniversary of Mathew’s death on October 12, 1998.
