Parents and community members are urged to attend an important presentation designed to “Stop Human Trafficking” from 10 am to noon on Saturday, February 22 at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center.

Human trafficking involves the use of force, fraud or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. Every year, millions of men, women and children are trafficked worldwide. You will learn about preventing human trafficking in the region and what you can do to help victims.

The free program features experts including Jeff Jensen of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department; Kathie Perino of the Anti-Human Trafficking Initiative of Saddleback Church; Lauri Burns, CEO of Vera’s Sanctuary and Director of The Teen Project; and Sandra Morgan, RN, PhD, Director of the Global Center for Women and Justice as well as a member of the White House Public-Private Partnership Advisory Council to End Human Trafficking. The program is sponsored by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) Mission Viejo/Saddleback Valley; AAUW Interbranch Council - Orange County; Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce; and City of Mission Viejo.
