Man Rescued From O.C. Flood-Control Channel

Costa Mesa Fire official said the male, who either jumped or fell, possibly suffered a broken leg.

COSTA MESA, CA - An injured man who jumped or fell into a flood-control channel this morning had to be rescued by Costa Mesa firefighters.

The man, who's in his 20s, possibly broke a leg when he landed in the channel, which did not have much water in it, according to Costa Mesa fire Capt. Chris Coates.

About 15 rescue workers "set up some rope systems to get him out of the flood-control channel,'' Coates said.
