Recognize This Suspected Armed Robber?
Irvine police are aggressively seeking leads on an armed robbery suspect from the Northwoods Apartments.

IRVINE, CA — Police officials released a sketch of a man suspected of an armed robbery in Irvine Saturday night. Police are looking for anyone who may have seen the suspect who allegedly robbed two victims at gunpoint in an Irvine apartment complex.
On Monday, police circulated a composite sketch of a robbery suspect who allegedly confronted a couple at the Northwood Place apartment complex, stole their jewelry and fired shots at them as he made his getaway.
"On Saturday just before 11 p.m., the Irvine Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired on the 500 block of Hayes," Kim Mohr of the Irvine Police Department said. "Police arrived and determined that no one was injured in the incident, which occurred during a robbery."

The suspect was described as a black man in his late 20s to early 30s, about 6-foot-1 and weighs about 175 pounds. The suspect has short black hair and dark eyes, police said.
"The incident began when the suspect approached a couple who had just unloaded their car and were walking toward their apartment," Mohr said. "The suspect produced a handgun and forcibly removed jewelry from the victims, then fired at them as he fled."
