Markus Zusak presents 'The Book Thief' in Mission Viejo on its 10th anniversary

Popular Aussie author to appear in Mission Viejo

The Friends of the Mission Viejo Library and A Whale of a Tale Bookshoppe are hosting award-winning author Markus Zusak on the release date of the 10th anniversary edition of “The Book Thief.”

Zusak, who lives in Australia, will appear in the City’s popular Writers Present program at 7 p.m. at the Norman P. Murray Community Center to discuss “The Book Thief” and sign the 10th anniversary edition.

More than 10 million copies of this New York Times bestseller have been sold worldwide since it made its debut. The book has received numerous awards including the Book Sense Book of the Year Award for Children’s Literature; a Michael Printz Honor from the American Library Association; and The Sydney Taylor Book Award from the Association of Jewish Libraries, which recognizes the best in Jewish children’s literature. In 2013, the novel was released as a major motion picture starring Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson.

A $25 ticket includes admission and seating before 7 p.m. for two to Writers Present: Markus Zusak; one hardcover 10th anniversary edition book; and book signing. Tickets and seating are limited. Visit http://markuszusak.brownpapertickets.com/ to purchase your ticket for two.
