The Irvine Center is the newest complement to MemorialCare Breast Center at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills, with a similar facility in San Clemente. The Irvine center provides 3D digital tomosynthesis mammography, dedicated breast ultrasound and DEXA bone density testing for osteoporosis screening.
“One in eight women in Orange County will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime,” explains Dr. Levine. “Breast cancer accounts for more than 30 percent of all cancers found in women. The majority of women diagnosed with breast cancer have no family history of the disease, and while it occurs more often in women who are over the age of 50, younger women are also at risk.”
“Ensuring that the very best women’s health care services are convenient and accessible to our community is critical to our mission of offering individuals and families extraordinary care provided by exceptional clinicians with the most state-of-the-art technology,” Dr. Levine adds. “Breast screening should be a regular part of a woman’s preventive health regimen. While we cannot yet prevent breast cancer from occurring, if detected early, it is an extremely curable disease.”
MemorialCare Breast Center at Saddleback Memorial in Irvine is located at 4040 Barranca Parkway in suite 110 and is open Monday through Saturday. For an appointment, or more information call 949-452-7200.
