MISSION VIEJO, CA — A girl who went missing at Mission Viejo High School has been found in Los Angeles, reported Orange County Sheriff's Department Friday afternoon.
The 15-year-old girl was found with Nathan Williams, 22, a Texas resident who she had met online. Williams is currently in police custody as the investigation continues, OCSD said in a Facebook post. OCSD said Williams had traveled from his resident state of Texas to meet with the youth.
The pair had been "conversing online through an app called Discord," said Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Williams "traveled here to meet her and she was picked up yesterday in a rideshare vehicle, according to the investigation," Braun said.
