Mission Hospital Foundation Honors Jim Bastian

A highly engaged member of the Mission Hospital family, Bastian was recognized for his dynamic leadership and dedication.

A treasured member of the Mission Hospital family, Jim Bastian, was recently honored by the foundation with the prestigious Mission Cup. The Mission Cup was established to recognize members of the Mission Hospital Foundation Board of Directors for outstanding commitment and service.

Jim currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Mission Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and has led the hospital’s Golf Classic Committee for the past 3 years.

“Mission Hospital is very blessed to have the engagement and support of Jim Bastian,” said Cathleen A. Collins, chief development officer for Mission Hospital Foundation.

“With Jim’s passion for Mission Hospital and his dynamic leadership, the Golf Classic has become the gold standard of charity tournaments in Orange County,” says Collins. “Jim successfully moved the annual event to Pelican Hill two years ago, engaged many new sponsors and community partners and created a tournament that our community looks forward to year after year.”

In addition to his involvement at Mission Hospital, Jim serves on the Lion’s Heart Board of Directors and is an active member of the Coto de Caza Rotary Club where he served as president from 2007 to 2008. He is past president of the Bell Tower Foundation, member of his church’s Finance Committee and has served as a youth sports coach for more than 25 years. Jim helps to raise money for numerous charitable organizations, including Education for the Children, Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, and The Public Law Center.
