Mission Hospital Holiday Gala Raises More Than $2 Million

The Mission Hospital Holiday Gala was an enormous success – raising more than $2 million - thanks to the engagement of hundreds of inspired community members, dozens of physician partners and our dynamic gala chairs: Dana and Dr. James Bredenkamp, Barbie and Dr. George Miranda and Drs. Michele Staunton and John Shaver.

The evening celebrated the millions of dreams that will come true thanks to the expanded cancer programs and services within Mission’s new Judi and Bill Leonard Institute for Cancer Prevention, Treatment and Wellness. Thrilling moments included an inspirational song about making dreams come true, sung by Deanna and Jon Ramsay and their children – ages 5, 7, 12 and 14. They brought the house to its feet with a standing ovation and then shared their Mission Hospital grateful patient experience.

Following the Ramsay’s uplifting words, three remarkable community members - Brendan, Claudia and Debbie - shared their encounters with cancer and thanked the amazing physicians who cared for them, healing them in body, mind and spirit. These amazing doctors are also our gala co-chairs: Dr. Bredenkamp, Dr. Miranda and Dr. Shaver.

Guests enjoyed bidding on live and super silent auctions, including two front-row tickets to a Gwen Stefani concert, an exclusive meet and greet after the concert and transportation to the Las Vegas venue in a private jet. Other auction items included a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Tuscany and FOX NFL Sunday producer for a day experience. Idit and Moti Ferder of Lugano Diamonds donated an exquisite set of white and black diamond bangles, valued at $27,800, which was raffled at the event.
