Brightly colored jeans are in this season, and are also a great way to keep denim in your wardrobe but with a fresh spring look. To neutralize the look, pair colored denim pants with a light- or dark-colored top. The skinny jeans fit is most popular and looks great when layered with an over-sized/flowy chiffon blouse.

Mission Viejo native Lindsey Cortright’s favorite look for this season is a cute chiffon blouse. “I love pairing flowing chiffon blouses with my favorite pair of skinny jeans and wedges for an outfit that looks cute while running errands during the day or for a fun night out with friends”, Cortright said while shopping at the
Spring 2012 Trend #3: Bold Prints
Bold and beautiful floral prints are also a great way to add a feminine touch to your spring outfit. Patsy Sanquist, Marketing Director at The Shops at Mission Viejo, says prints with big flowers are the way to go this season. And to neutralize your prints, throw a dark- or light-colored blazer or cardigan over your outfit for a more clean spring look.
Spring 2012 Trend #4: Color-Blocking
The hottest trend of the spring is color-blocking, and with retail stores quickly filling with vibrant hues, don’t be afraid to amp up your spring style with this season’s hottest neon brights. Color-block your outfit by pairing bold and bright colored tops, dresses, skirts, and accessories to make traditionally simple cuts much more dramatic and fun.
“I love bright colors and color blocking," Mission Viejo shopper Cally Anderson, 22, said. "I sometimes color block shades like kelly green and pink together, for a fun and bold day look!”
Some colors that pair well together are:
- Royal Blue, Yellow, Orange
- Chocolate Brown, Pink, Peach
- Deep Purple, Cobalt Blue, Teal
- Navy Blue, Bright Pink, White
- Grey, Coral, Ivory
Spring Trend #5: Accessorize
Lastly, don’t forget to complete your spring look with a cute set of bracelets or edgy pair of shoes!
- Feathers and Fringe: Feathered and fringed jewelry is in this season, adding a more tribal, earthy look to your spring style.
- Neon Brights: Add a pop of color to any outfit with neon colored accessories. This is also perfect for you fashionistas who love brights, though aren’t quite ready to completely take over the trend of color-blocking!
- Wedges and Strappy Sandals: No matter what shoe style your occasion may call for, shoes this season are cute and versatile! Top-off your outfit with a cute pair of neutral colored (or metallic, for the more fashion-forward) sandals or wedges, for a fun and fresh spring look.
