Mission Viejo Football Players Subjected To 'Racist Comments': Report
San Clemente administrators are investigating claims that the players were the subject of racist comments during a Friday night game.
SAN CLEMENTE, CA — San Clemente High School administrators are investigating claims that Mission Viejo football players were subjected to racist comments during a football game on Friday night, the Orange County Register reported.
"We did hear about these allegations, [and] school administration [at San Clemente] is currently investigating," Capistrano Unified School District spokesperson Ryan Burris told the OC Register in an email.
The incident was reported at San Clemente High during the schools' South Coast League game Friday, where Mission Viejo defeated the home school 49-14, according to the report.

Saddleback Valley Unified School District, which oversees Mission Viejo, told the OC Register Monday that its administration is aware of the claims as well and is currently investigating.
“Our primary focus is both the physical safety and social-emotional safety of our players as we investigate the experiences of individual players,” Wendie Hauschild, spokesperson for Saddleback Valley Unified, wrote in an email to the OC Register. “MVHS administration is in contact with San Clemente High School administration regarding the concerns.”
