Mission Viejo: Keep Your Pets Safe, Too

With more than 11,000 acres currently burned by the Silverado Fire, the City of Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is reminding pet owners to be prepared and take the necessary precautions. Download our detailed Pet Disaster Preparedness brochure that will help you prepare, plan and stay informed of the best way to protect your pets in any emergency or disaster.

If you are in the current evacuation “warning” Zone 1 and are planning to leave, the Pet Disaster Preparedness brochure also lists some pet-friendly hotels that can ensure you and your pet stay together safe and sound. (Be sure to call the hotels for availability. As of 10:30 am today, there were rooms available.)

As always, Animal Services Officers are ready to help anyone needing assistance evacuating animals. The center can also assist residents in finding additional resources that allow pets to remain with their families and – if necessary – can house displaced animals.
