MISSION VIEJO, CA – Mission Viejo is working to support their residents during the new coronavirus crisis by launching a new wellness check program for seniors and people with disabilities.

The new city-led program includes a schedule weekly call from city staff to check in, provide resources, answer questions or just offer a chance to talk. The calls will happen Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Relatives can request the service on behalf of someone, but participants can opt out at any time.

Mission Viejo residents who are 65 or older or who have a disability could receive a call from city staff, and are encouraged not to hang up. It is important to note that city staff will never ask for person information. If someone calls asking for personal or financial information, it is likely a scam.
