Mission Viejo Planning Commission OK's Permit For New Chick-Fil-A
The Claim Jumper restaurant on Santa Margarita Parkway may be destroyed and turned into a Chick-Fil-A.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Mission Viejo residents may see a new Chick-Fil-A in the future, after the city's Planning and Transportation Commission voted unanimously to approve a conditional use permit necessary for the next steps in the proposed project.
The Chick-Fil-A would be built on 27845 Santa Margarita Pkwy., where the Claim Jumper Steakhouse & Bar currently operates seven days a week, according to a city agenda.
The petition, authored by Chick-Fil-A representative Kelsey Wu, proposes building a 4,800 square-foot drive-thru Chick-Fil-A that includes indoor and outdoor dining, as well as a drive-thru queue with enough room for 27 cars.

A spokesperson for the City of Mission Viejo told Patch that the Claim Jumper owner will sell the property to Chick-Fil-A due to business being "significantly down."
Representatives for the proposal will now seek building permits to start construction through the city.
