Mission Viejo Police Helicopter Locates Suspected Home Intruder

"Duke", an OCSD helicopter, found the suspect hiding in the bushes Tuesday night after Mission Viejo homeowners tried to catch him.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Attaboy, Duke.

One of the OC Sheriff's Department's helicopters with this nickname was able to spot a suspect hiding in the bushes after he was allegedly trying to break and enter into a home near the intersection of Marguerite Parkway and La Barca.

According to the OC Sheriff's Department, a young girl heard someone tampering in the window of her home at around 8 p.m. Tuesday and told her father. Her father began chasing the man, but eventually lost sight of him.

But once Duke shined a light on the suspect, he was arrested and taken to jail. No one was hurt or injured, according to police.

The Sheriff's Department was not available for further comment.
