MISSION VIEJO, CA — Are you a Mission Viejo resident looking to learn more about a proposed project in your town? The City of Mission Viejo released a simplified flow chart about the proposed Mission Viejo Garden Plaza Project to inform residents about the numerous steps in the project's process and where it currently stands.

The chart also highlights when important chances for public input will be available, the City of Mission Viejo said in a statement.

The Mission Viejo Garden Plaza Project is a proposed retail and residential project located on the northwest side of Marguerite Parkway and La Paz. The project is in its early stages of development, with a public hearing on the horizon for Mission Viejo residents.

ValueRock Realty, the private property owner, proposes to demolish the existing 46,148 square-feet of building area to make room for The Gardens, a project with five upper stories and 234 apartment units, over 600 parking spaces and 48,000 square-feet of retail.

The project was neither initiated nor promoted by the City of Mission Viejo, a spokesperson with the city said. Residents interested in learning more about the project can visit the city's website.
