MISSION VIEJO, CA - Health Inspectors from the Orange County Environmental Health Department have closed 87 restaurants this year including one in Mission Viejo for a rodent infestation.

The county can order the immediate closure of a restaurant for the following reasons:

  • Sewage overflow
  • No water available
  • Lack of “warm” (100F or greater) water for adequate hand washing
  • Power outages
  • No operable restrooms
  • Fire or other disaster

Most closed restaurants were reopened within a few days after corrections were made.
