Mission Viejo Serial Arsonist Pleads Guilty To Multiple Felonies

A former student of Mission Viejo High School pleaded guilty to setting multiple fires in Orange County, OCDA says.

MISSION VIEJO, CA - A former Mission Viejo High School student and now Lake Forest resident pleaded guilty Monday to setting fires at Mission Viejo High School and the Kaleidoscope shopping center.

Jack Frye, 19, pleaded guilty to six counts of arson, two counts ofattempted arson and one count of attempted second-degree burglary, all felonies, according to court records.

Frye, a former Mission Viejo High School student, set several fires atthe campus and one blaze at the Kaleidoscope shopping center on the 27700 block of CrownValley Parkway in Mission Viejo between March 28 and April 4.

Frye also attempted to get onto the campus and set a blaze on March 30, but was unsuccessful, and he also tried to ignite a van fire near the high school, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office.

Frye, who was arrested near the scene, is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 4 at the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.
