Mission Viejo Taking Applications For Character Committee

The Community of Character Committee is comprised of students and adults and showcases an important character trait each month.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Do you have character? The City of Mission Viejo is calling on adults and students to come forward and join the city's Community of Character Committee.

The committee was established in 2003 and works closely with Mission Viejo schools and the city itself to highlight monthly character traits such as perseverance, respect and fairness — to name a few. Members of the Community of Character Committee create "character posters" to distribute at schools and across the city. The committee also organizes events to showcase each monthly character trait, such as "Film of Character" movie screenings and a teen survival guide event for 8th grade students, according to the city.

September's highlighted character trait is responsibility.
