Mission Viejo's Mayor Frank Ury Delivers Hilarious Final State of City Address
In a fun and poignant look at his work in Mission Viejo, Frank Ury brought the house down at his last City Council address.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Outgoing Mission Viejo Mayor Frank Ury delivered fun and moving final State of the City address on Tuesday.
Ury took viewers on a comical and poignant ride in his State of the City address, which aired during the City Council’s meeting.
With a humorous beginning and graceful ending, he highlighted some of the city of Mission Viejo’s accomplishments this year including:

- $28 million reserve budget
- AAA bond rating
- Reduced pension and healthcare liabilities by $3 million
- Partnerships with Laguna Hills and Rancho Santa Margarita for animal services beginning January 1
- Renovation of the decades-old Marguerite Aquatics Center
- Bocce ball courts and park improvements
- Dive in Movies, Family Film Nights
- Advanced Purified Water Project at Lake Mission Viejo
"With the new council that will take office, this city is in great hands," he said. "I know it's cliche, but I have been honored to serve on the city council for the past 12 years."
The roughly 8-minute video, which received a rousing applause, served as Ury’s final address after completing 12 years on the City Council.
