Say hello to sweet Mr. Milky Way! He is a 4-year-old short-haired cat typical of a Tomcat – extremely friendly with people but not with other cats. In fact, his dislike of other felines may have landed him in trouble, since he has tested positive for FIV or feline immunodeficiency virus.

Most commonly transferred by cat fights, FIV occurs in almost 5% of all domestic cats. Although FIV is a virus without a cure, most cats will live completely normal, blissful lives. In fact, according to icatcare.org, many FIV-infected cats can live happily with the virus for a long period of time without ever experiencing clinical disease. However, cats with FIV shouldn’t live with other cats – not a problem for Mr. Milky Way. Along with cats, he’s not a fan of dogs, so he should be the only pet in your home.
Since our Animal Services Center is closed to foot traffic, email your adoption interest to animalinfo@cityofmissionviejo.org. Milky Way is waiting patiently for his forever home
