Cynthia’s love of photography began in her youth with the purchase of her first Pentax SLR camera. In the 1980s, this mingled with video resulting in a 1994 documentary with the La Jolla Historical Society sponsored by the California Commission for the Humanities. In 1995, another window opened as she started painting with pastels and acrylics after studying with wonderful teachers for many years.
During this free lecture, Cynthia will discuss how she was able to capture images of ancient Egyptian artwork in modern ways while traveling paths taken by Howard Carter, Barzoni, Herodotus and archaeologists. She will also discuss how the history of Egypt revolves around the afterlife.
