Mother Pulls Son from Pool in Near Drowning Incident
A near-drowning victim was found in Laguna Hills this morning when a mother pulled him out, unresponsive. OCFA paramedics responded.

LAGUNA HILLS, CA—Orange County Fire Authority reported to the scene of a drowning today in Laguna Hills. At approximately 10:30 a.m., a mother discovered her 14-year-old special needs son, face down in their backyard pool.
"She went into the backyard, and discovered that the boy was in the pool," Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Stephen Horner said in interview. "The mother didn't know how long the boy had been in the pool when she discovered him there."
The boy was close enough to the side that the mother dragged him out, and called 9-1-1 for paramedic assistance according to Horner.

"The paramedics performed CPR and were able to revive the boy," he said. There is no word yet as to if the boy regained consciousness.
He was transported to local area hospital, and his current status is unknown.

- A - Active supervision of a responsible person, not distracted by cell phone, talking to others, or leaving child unattended in water.
- B - Barriers around backyard pools.
- C – Classes. Swimming lessons for young children. Teens and adults should learn CPR
