Motorcyclist Dies In Fatal Freeway Crash
A rider of a Kawasaki motorcycle lost control and crashed on the Santa Ana Freeway early Monday morning.
LAGUNA HILLS, CA — A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday in a solo vehicle crash on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Laguna Hills, authorities said.
The crash was reported just after 2:30 a.m. on the southbound Santa Ana Freeway just south of Alicia Parkway, a California Highway Patrol officer reported.
The motorcyclist was driving at an unknown rate of speed when he crashed his 2018 Kawasaki bike and was ejected, suffering traumatic injuries.

Emergency responders on the scene transported the rider to a nearby hospital in grave condition, CHP reported.
According to the Orange County Coroner's office, the victim was pronounced dead an hour later at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center, in Mission Viejo.

The driver was not believed to be under the influence of any substances at the time of the crash, CHP Officer Rafael Reynoso told Patch. His identity was withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
The southbound freeway lanes were closed for about two hours while an investigation was conducted.
