Mountain Biker Injured On OC Trail Flown To Area Hospital
Firefighters rescued a mountain biker who crashed in a remote area late Thursday evening.
Yesterday a male suffered an arm injury while out on the trails in Aliso Woods Canyon. With no easy way to access the patient, crews on the ground hiked in and assisted the firefighter paramedic on the helicopter in packaging the patient to be flown to the hospital. pic.twitter.com/YMMK9CDCel

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — A mountain biker crashed and injured his arm while riding trails in Aliso Woods Canyon late Thursday, Orange County Fire Authority reported.
The man suffered an arm injury and was unable to ride out of the back-country trail, according to the department.
"With no easy access to the patient, crews on the ground hiked in and assisted the firefighter paramedic on the helicopter," they said.

Firefighters "packaged the patient" who was airlifted and then flown to an area hospital in stable condition, according to OCFA Capt. Greg Barta.

Barta explained that every accident is different.
"On regular calls, if there is a bicycle on scene, we make every attempt to make sure it stays with the patient, or goes with a family member," he told us.
