An exciting addition to the event is the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Mission Viejo.  They will host a “Post-it Note Rally,” in honor of Talia Joy Castellano who lost her battle to cancer on July 16, 2013.   Castellano was an honorary CoverGirl and the “professional, YouTube Makeup Guru” with one video getting more than 8 million views, others reached more than 500,000 hits.   You can read A Salute to Talia Joy Castellano by Margot Ferron coming to you soon.

National Night Out is an annual nationwide event designed to strengthen our communities by encouraging neighborhoods to engage in stronger relationships with each other and with their local law enforcement partners.

It's a great way to promote community-police partnerships and enjoy a summer evening surrounded by friends and family.  The event has been held annually since 1984 and is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch in the United States and Canada.

The event is meant to increase awareness about police programs in communities, such as drug preventionneighborhood watch and other anti-crime efforts.

You can make a difference.  We applaud all of you who are involved in your Neighborhood Watch.  “Please join us and strengthen neighborhood spirit while celebrating our safe community,” said Paula Monical, Crime Prevention Specialist.
