OC Firefighters Free Trapped Man From Car Wash

Orange County Fire Authority and Anaheim Firefighters worked to free a man who was trapped in a car wash track.

YORBA LINDA, CA — Orange County Fire Authority and Anaheim Fire and Rescue worked to free a man who was stuck in a Yorba Linda car wash, Thursday, officials said.

At approximately 12:45 p.m. the OCFA technical rescue team arrived at the scene of Riverbend Hand Car Wash on La Palma and Santa Ana River Trail where the man was trapped in the guide track, which pulls cars into the wash.

"A male in his 20s had minor injuries from the entrapment," OCFA Capt. Larry Kurtz said. "The rescue was a joint effort between OCFA Technical Rescue and Anaheim Fire and Rescue."

The technical teams, who train specifically for difficult extrications, worked for just over 30 minutes to free the man, who was then taken to an area hospital for treatment.
