OC Sound Chorus Triple Medals At Competition!

OC Sound is formerly Mission Viejo Chorus

On April 21, 2018 at regional competition in Phoenix, AZ, OC Sound Chorus was awarded 1st place in the mid-size division and 2nd place overall among choruses from Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico and Hawaii. OC Sound also won the award as Most Improved Chorus, for the second consecutive year.

The Chorus is part of Sweet Adelines International, a global non-profit organization of women who love singing 4-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style. Empowering women through education, competition and performance, Sweet Adelines creates unlimited opportunities for personal and musical growth, as well as lifelong friendships. Formerly Mission Viejo Chorus, OC Sound has been entertaining audiences throughout Orange County since 1969.

Much of their success can be attributed to Master Director, Bonnie McKibben. Bonnie has served as a certified judge in the Showmanship Category, traveling worldwide to judge both regional and international contests. As an adjunct Professor of Vocal Performance, she coaches women’s and men’s organizations throughout the world. An accomplished quartet singer, Bonnie has won over 20 Regional and 3 International medals; most notably, the gold medal in 1990 with her quartet, Panache.
