OCSD Releases Video Of Armed Man Robbing Mission Viejo Nordstrom

Authorities are calling on the public to help identify an armed man who robbed a Nordstrom in Mission Viejo Saturday evening.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Orange County Sheriff officials released video footage an armed man still at-large after robbing a Nordstrom store at gunpoint in Mission Viejo Saturday evening. Authorities are asking the public for help in identifying the man.

The security footage shows the suspect holding a gun out with one hand and an unidentified object in the other.

The robbery occurred late Saturday evening inside of the the Shops at Mission Viejo Mall, off Marguerite Parkway and Shops Boulevard, just after many of the stores in the mall closed down for the night. Multiple callers reported that an armed person was inside the mall, according to OCSD.

The suspect held a gun and fled the mall with an unknown amount of cash, department spokeswoman Carrie Braun said. No shots were fired. One person suffered a minor injury while attempting to flee the mall and was treated by Orange County Fire Authority paramedics.

The mall was searched by members of the sheriff's SWAT team, but ultimately, authorities were unable to locate the suspect. Most of the shops inside the mall were closed at the time but exterior shops and restaurants were open when the robbery occurred. Some remaining patrons inside the mall sheltered in place.

The suspect was described as a white man, around 20 to 30 years old. He was seen wearing an orange or red wig, black clothing, sunglasses and a medical face mask.
