Officer Saves Child Choking On Gumball At City Event: Good News
The Mission Viejo Animal Services Officer was teaching at a booth at the city's National Night Out when he noticed a mother in distress.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — A Mission Viejo Animal Services Officer displayed swift and life-saving action when he helped a child who was choking on a gumball during the city's National Night Out Event on Tuesday.
MVAS Officer David Lim was manning the MVAS booth when he noticed a frantic mother in distress. According to MVAS, the mother's 5-year-old child was experience breathing difficulties after choking on a large gumball.
Officer Lim sprang into action and rushed to the scene to perform the Heimlich maneuver on the child. In moments, the gumball was dislodged from the child's airway.
