Orange County's Oldest Inmate, 96, to Be Arraigned on Child Molestation Charges

A 96-year-old man is scheduled to be arraigned today on charges of molesting two girls, aged 10 and 11.

Kenneth Leroy Collins of Laguna Woods was arrested Feb. 25. He is charged with four felony counts of committing a lewd act on a child under 14. The charges include sentence-enhancing allegations of committing lewd acts against multiple victims and substantial sexual conduct with a child.

Collins is accused of touching the children, masturbating in front of them and taking off his diapers to expose himself, according to Deputy District Attorney Mena Guriguis. He also allegedly asked one of the girls to remove her clothing.

Collins may be the oldest person housed in the Orange County Jail, according to Guriguis. He's being held in lieu of $1 million bail, according to jail records.
