Outstanding Citizen Thanked By Mission Viejo Police Services

We've all heard when you see something say something, but on the day after Christmas one Mission Viejo woman made a difference for a family.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — On the day after Christmas, a Mission Viejo bank employee recognized something out of the ordinary. Her attention to detail has named her an "outstanding citizen," police said.

A local bank employee, Lynette (last name withheld) noticed a "habitual missing adult" outside of her branch, according to MVPD.

"She saw that the woman looked like someone who was often shared as a missing person on Facebook and Nextdoor group sites," a spokesperson for the department shared on social media.

Lynette called the non-emergency dispatch line and confirmed that the woman in question was currently listed as an At-Risk missing person.

MVPD has since contacted the woman and reunited her with her family.
